Maybelline Unstoppable Mascara Review | Very Black, Long Lasting & Smudge Proof

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

maybelline MascaraMaybelline Unstoppable Mascara is designed to make the lashes 50% longer, last for 12 hours and to be totally smudge proof.

What do the ladies using it think?

Well from reviews on makeupalley it does 2 out of 3. Most ladies found that it lasts and doesn't smudge.

Unfortunately most users found it didn't make their lashes look any longer. Basically most users just thought it was a O.K mascara but nothing to write home about. One lady said it actually made her lashes look shorter, which really sucks!

To be perfectly honest Unstoppable sounds rather dull. I don't think I'll be rushing out for this one.

Ingredients

Water, Hydrogenated Stearyl Olive Esters, Carnauba Carnauba Wax, Cera Microcristallina Microcrystalline Wax, Ethylenediamine/Stearyl Dimer Dilinoleate Copolyme, Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer, Acrylates Copolymer, Pentylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Palmitic Acid, Trimethylpentanediol/Adipic Acid/Glycerin Crosspol, PVP, Cyclopentasiloxane, Phenoxyethanol, Rayon, Methylparaben, Polysilicone-11, Isoceteth-20, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Simethicone, Disodium EDTA, Poly Toluylene Co Trimellic Amide Imide, Isopropylparaben, Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl Methacry, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Propylparaben, Lecithin, Isobutylparaben, Butylparaben, Laureth-4, Tocopheryl Acetate.

To Sum Up

So, this mascara might be worth while to some of you lucky ladies that have naturally long and thick lashes, as it does seem to last and not smudge.

However, if you expect it to make your short lashes look irresistibly long and luscious it is probably worth trying something else.

If you are interested in trying this mascara it retails for around $3.99 on Amazon.

Blinc Kiss Me Mascara Review | Thickens, Lengthens & Its Waterproof

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Blinc Kiss Me MascaraBlinc Kiss Me Mascara is not oil based like most other mascaras, so it should be less likely to smudge, run clump or flake. This makes it a good choice for people with sensitive eyes or who have to wear contacts.

It forms tubes around the lashes, they are designed to make the lashes look thicker and to give them more length. Even though it is waterproof, Blinc is easily removed with water. Just saturate the lashes with water then rub gently. It should come off easily and not cause any lash loss, which is a huge plus.

Most of the reviews on Amazon are very positive about Blinc mascara and say it does thicken and lengthen lashes with no smudging.

Although there are a few ladies who weren't impressed by the mascara. They say that it does thicken but doesn't lengthen. Some even found it to clump and give that dreaded spider leg effect, which we all hate.

Ingredients

Water (Aqua), Ammonium Acrylates Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Acrylates Copolymer, Triethanolamine, Isopropyl Alcohol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, May Contain (+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)

If you want to give Blinc Mascara a try the cost varies from $15-$25 depending on where you purchase it. which is expensive compared to a lot of other brands.

Any color in the Nars Lip Gloss range can be worn on its own or over another lipstick to give that extra shine.

Nars Lip Gloss won the best of Sephora award in 2006. Most Nars Guru's seem to think it deserves its award. They say it lasts on there lips for hours and doesn't bleed or smudge. Some have even commented how they can travel with the lip gloss without it leaking like a lot of other brands do.

Although the majority of the reviews on Nars were positive, there were a few ladies that found it far to thick and sticky. One lady even commented on how it made her lips look cakey. You might get a cakey look sometimes with some foundations, or if too much makeup is applied.

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara Review | Defining, Lengthening & Long Lasting

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Mac Zoom MascaraHey girls!

Most of my makeup is Mac, I just love there products. But! That's why I can't believe I'm going to say this, "Beware of Macs Zoom Lash Mascara".

While I was doing my makeup course at beauty school I got a full Mac Makeup kit. Well, like any girl I was thrilled. There was just one thing missing, a "Mac mascara". My Teacher had changed it for a Maybelline one instead.

I asked her why we didn't get Mac mascara, she said Mac mascaras are never that good. Now I can see why she opted for another brand after reading reviews on the Zoom!

Macs Zoom Lash Mascara is supposed to leave your lashes looking volumized, but from the reviews I've read all it seems to leave is a smudged mess!

It seems that a lot of ladies don't like the Zoom, according to reviews on Epinions.com. They say the wand isn't precise, it builds up product and clumps. Some users have even commented on the bad smell of the mascara.

Although there are some ladies that have found it works for them and leaves their lashes full, lengthens and defined.

If you want to try Mac Zoom Lash Mascara for yourself it costs $9.99. Which is a very reasonable price.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review | Cream To Even Skin Tones & Give A Glowing Complexion

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

Laura Mercier Tinted MoisturizerLaura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is designed to work as a moisturizer and foundation in one. This makes applying your morning makeup before work a lot faster giving you a few extra minutes in bed.

Laura Mercier says that it is a lightweight formula will leave your skin with a natural finish and a glowing complexion.

It also contains a SPF 20 which is a sweet bonus. This will help prevent the signs of aging as unprotected sun exposure can cause photo-aging and dry skin. In result can lead to: wrinkles, liver spots, dilation of capillaries.

Good Points

Reviews on Amazon are mostly positive about this tinted moisturizer. Most users have said it is:

  • Light and sheer
  • Hydrating
  • Long lasting
  • Very natural looking

However, some users have found it to be a bit watery and so not effective at covering red spots or other blemishes.

Laura Mercier has priced this tinted moisturizer quite high at $42.00 a tube, but the majority of users think that it "deserves it's price tag". They consistently say that good things don't come cheap and that this tinted moisturizer/foundation definitely isn't cheap.

Lip-Ink Trial Kit Review | Herbal, Wax Free & Waterproof Lip Stain

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Lip Ink Tial KitLip-Ink Trial Kit is a herbal lip stain that is wax free and contains no preservatives, it also contains natural antiseptic properties. It is designed to give a natural lip color that lasts all day that is waterproof and smudge proof.

The kit its self contains 1 Lip-Ink Lip Color Seasonal Color ONLY, 1 Lip-Ink Shine/Moisturizer Tear Packet, 1 Lip-Ink Off Towelette, 1 Set of Illustrated Instructions and 1 Color Chart.

I think it is good that you can get a trial kit before spending a lot on the full size product, that's if you wish on buying it after giving it a try!

Some ladies from makeupalley.com think it is a good lip stain. They say it lasts all day, it's good because it is chemical free and its definitely worth the price.

There are on the other hand quite a few people who think its not worth trying. They said it gives there lips a burning sensation, drys lips out and find it hard to apply.

One lady from makeupalley.com said it looked good when she first got it, but after constant use it made her lips dry. Then when she used it on her dry lips it made all the imperfections stand out more. Like when you wear fake tan and you get those horrid orange patches on your elbows.

Lip-Ink Trial kit retails for $16.50. Which is expensive compared to other brands that cost the same for a full size tube.

Sephora Lip & Cheek StainLush Flush Wine Lip & Cheek Stain by Sephora is designed to give a natural flushed look on lips and cheeks. It comes in this lovely red wine color. Lush flush stain is a gel formula which is supposed to make it easier to blend.

Sephora's lip and cheek stain contains red wine extracts that has anti-oxidants in it. The anti-oxidants are a big plus in my opinion because they help protect your skin against the harsh environment.

How do Sephora enthusiasts rate it?

Well Sephora's lip and cheek stain have mixed reviews. Some ladies love it as it gave them a natural flush that lasted all day long. They also like that it  isn't greasy, you can build coverage and its light weight.

Unfortunately some other reviews on Sephora say:

  • Its not long lasting

  • Dries out lips
  • Not worth the money
